The usually bouncy pup, Rusty, was resting by her feet. It was even too hot for him, a bundle of energy, to get up and run around. She sighed again and looked down at the panting dog, snuggled up against her bare feet. His small body created heat and the young woman lifted her feet up from the ground and tucked them under her in a fluid motion, Rusty lifted his head for a moment, but put it down without the energy to lift it up. Jo dropped her shoulders and tilted her head back; staring at the covering on the porch, wishing that it would just start to snow… or rain.
However, the sky beyond the porch covering was a bright blue. There were no storm clouds in sight, just small, white fluffy things that moved slowly across the huge expanse. There was only a small buzzing from the bees that hovered over the flowers next to the porch and Jo shifted in her seat again, fanning herself with her hand. If she wasn’t out on the porch, she would have just gotten herself stripped down to the bare necessities, but finding that she was partially in public view, all she could do was be mildly content with the denim shorts and tank top that she tied under her bust line, hoping that with more flesh exposed it might make her cooler. No such luck.
She couldn't imagine going anywhere right now, and was thankful that she didn't have to work. It would only cause her the pains of getting up and getting dressed, then having to walk. That would be pure torture. Reclining again, the young woman groaned as she heard the revving of an engine from somewhere in the distance. Who on Earth would have the energy to do anything but sit around on a day like this?
